The pious occasion of Mahalaya Amavasya was celebrated today at Adi Sankara Nilayam with Kathopanishad Parayana and various pujas for the Sadgati of Pitrs led by Swami Sharadananda Sarasvati, Acharya – Kerala Sandeepany.
The pujas began with chanting the three vallis of Kathopanishad – Chapter 1 followed by Gadadhara Gaya Vishnu Puja, Sarvapitr Tarpana and arati. In the existing pandemic situation, a large number of devotees attended the puja Live through Chinfo YouTube Channel.
The celebrations concluded with a traditional Kerala Sadhya (feast) which was sponsored by various devotees as Bhiksha – Annadanam (offering food to Swamins, Brahmacharins and ashram residents).
