Throwback to 2008: Dr Metre receives the Padmashree!

In 1989, when CORD was an infant with huge dreams, Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda wrote to Dr Kshama Metre or Doctor Didi as she is affectionately called today, “I loved your plan of serving the people. May all your schemes thrive and grow into a large shelter for the worried hearts of people. You plan. I will never say No. You have the Chinmaya spirit of service well ingrained in your heart.”

Here’s one such special memory, a milestone and a tribute to the Great Grand Master – when Dr Kshama Metre received the Padma Shree from the then President of India, Smt Pratibha Patil in 2008.

Today, CORD has spread its wings and taken many souls under its protective and nurturing shelter in various parts of India, the USA and Sri Lanka.
