Educating the Nation- CV Tarapur
Located one hundred kilometers away from Mumbai, Tarapur is empowered by India’s first Atomic Power Station and the famous Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, and it is enriched by a huge and thriving industrial estate. Tarapur became spiritually empowered in 1983 with Gurudev’s first Jnana Yajna, at which time the grassroots activities of the Chinmaya Mission began.
In 1993, Gurudev blessed the saìkalpa of the Tarapur Mission members to start a school, and the bhumi puja was performed in 1994 by Guruji.
The Vidyalaya, which started with seventy-two students and four teachers, presently has 1,700 students and seventy-five teaching and non-teaching staff and is considered one of the best schools in the Thane District.
