As I Think

As I Think!

A devotee fondly recalls how his tryst with Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda began.

He met Gurudev for the first time in the house of Sri Parthasarathy, the owner of the Kumudam magazine, in Chennai. The devotee was then introduced as an employee of Hoe & Co. one of the most prominent printers of those days.

Gurudev wanted a small book to be printed for distribution as Yajna Prasada, and he gave me the material. He also explained what he wanted on the cover. The devotee then have the idea to the company’s artist who created a stunning design with an outline of Gurudev’s profile.

The next day, when the devotee showed the cover to Gurudev at the Yajnashala, he was very happy with it saying that it was exactly what he wanted. The book was titled “As I Think.”
“He was very particular about every little detail. The book was printed and ready within three days. While distributing it, Gurudev explained how the book came to be printed” the devotee exclaims.

At that point when the devotee used to listen to Gurudev’s talks in a car with his friend, without joining the audience, without realizing that it was the beginning to an eternity of association with Gurudev.
