Pujya Swami Swaroopananda’s talk was organized at Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Jamshedpur from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM on the Topic “Secret of Long & Happy Life” based on the Maha Mrityunjay Mantra. He highlighted the deep meaning of Yajamahe as bringing oneself to God with a sense of gratitude.
Some highlights from the talk:
1. Vedic rituals are not conducted to glorify the gods and goddesses but to direct us towards recognition of nature and all its forms around us. “Sungandhim” means all virtuous, all fragrant, taking your mind close to God.
2. One needs integration of the head and the heart to recognize the glory of God and the spirit of living harmoniously with cooperation is also a Yajna. Swami jee also explained the meaning of Yagna: which is to offer our ignorance in the fire of knowledge.
3. Highest form of love/ worship is Remembrance, to acknowledge all that God has given to us.
4. Instilling a sense of appreciation for the Indian scriptures. Swamiji explained how ur saints and sages have used wonderful alliterations in their literature. “Pushtivardhanam” –one, who nourishes, one who feeds us, educates us and cares for us.
