Pujya Swami Swaroopananda gave a lecture, concluding the series of talks commemorating the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Saheb, at the invitation of the Guru Granth Sahib Resource Centre on Oct. 12. He explained that the Mool Mantra, with which the Japji Saheb opens, is the very crux of the teachings of all the Gurus. He cautioned all not to get so immersed in rituals as to lose sight of the essential teaching. The Scriptures provide guidelines to live
a meaningful life. Swamiji interspersed his talks with thought-provoking
tales that enthralled his audience. The evening ended with the President of
the organization thanking Swamiji for his insightful interpretation of the
profound thoughts of Guru Nanak Dev.
