The Four Aspects of the Chinmaya Vision Programme

The Chinmaya Vision Programme is not just a positive-attitude inducement program. It is a holistic vision to see life and the world as a whole and to know the place and importance of each part of the jigsaw puzzle of life and the world.

It also means properly understanding the filters through which we see the world and cultivating a positive attitude in facing life. It was after Gurudev’s Mahasamadhi in 1993 that CVP was formally developed, based entirely on Swami Chinmayananda’s thoughts and advice.

Back in 1965, he wrote:
Children are the very cream of our generation and they are the rulers and makers of tomorrow. Upon them depends the future of the nation and the safety of our culture and tradition. Let us give them a healthy physical and mental atmosphere for growth (Integrated Development), ingrain in them respect for and love for all living creatures (Universal Outlook), team spirit and national fervor (Patriotism) and pride in our hallowed divine culture (Indian Culture).

From here rose the Four Aspects of CVP:

1. Integrated Development (physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual development)
2. Indian Culture
3. Patriotism
4. Universal Outlook
